The monarch presented the tobacco manufacturer with a shop, which was located on an elite (in terms of trade) street in London, as a sign of expressing his own sympathy.
After these events, the cigarette products of “Old Bond Street” have come a long way of development. The high quality of tobacco and the reputation of the manufacturer helped the Bond cigarettes brand to enter the trading markets of more than 50 countries. To this day, all packs of cigarettes of the company are produced with the royal coat of arms depicted on them.
The Bond cigarettes brand appeared on the world stage more than a century ago. During its existence, cigarettes have managed to attract more than one million connoisseurs of high-quality tobacco. The history of the development of the brand “Bond Street” will seem excessively calm and gray. The brand did not stand out for the uniqueness of advertising campaigns, which cannot be said about cigarettes of a more expensive segment: “Camel” or “Chesterfield” with their passion to engage masses of movie stars and radio.
Bond cigarettes were produced for medium-income tobacco lovers and did not try to compete with high-category brands. The company combined first-class tobacco with moderate price tags and did not allow a drop in quality. In 1919, the brand bought the American business and registered it in Virginia. The coat of arms with the royal crown records its origins in Britain. The first filtered products were produced by the Americans, under the pressure of the social movement to ban smoking.
Light versions were invented later, including thin-sized women’s cigarettes. The use of solid and durable packs began in the 90s, this aroused interest among consumers, which increased the popularity of the brand.
2006 was remembered for the launch of the production of a series of cigarettes of the premium segment “Bond Street Special”: super-light Fine, light Mild and heavy series Rach. Just 3 years later, they ceased to be produced, and the market met another product of the company – “Bond Compact”. The modern new format of cigarettes and packaging design was appreciated by smokers of the younger generation, this series very quickly gained popularity.
